At 33-years-old, Matt Shupe is the second youngest GOP county chair in California.
A lifelong Republican, Shupe’s interest in limited government and free-market capitalism began at five-years-old when he would listen to various talk radio shows with his father.
Shupe is nationally recognized GOP strategist, he was named 40 under 40 by the American Association of Political Consultants in 2017. In 2018, his business earned a Pollie, equivalent to an Emmy for the political industry, for its use of Digital Media.
Shupe earned his bachelor’s degrees in both Political Science and Mass Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from California State University, Fresno. He is also a graduate of the Republican National Committee’s Campaign Management College.
In addition to his role as chair, Shupe currently serves as the Political Director of the California Young Republicans Federated, is a delegate to the California Republican Party, and currently resides in Walnut Creek, Calif.
As chair, Shupe’s priorities are simple: get Republicans elected to local office and to grow the presence of the Republican Party throughout Contra Costa County.
