California has a closed primary. Only registered Republicans may vote in our Republican Presidential Primary election. If you are a registered Republican, this message is for information purposes only, and no action is required.

There has been some confusion about the closed primary process. This message will help clear up the issue for you and any friends, family, or neighbors who may want to participate in our primary election and are registered as No Party Preference.

If you are not registered as a Republican and want to vote for a Republican presidential candidate in our upcoming March primary, you have two options:

Reregister as a Republican at https://registertovote.ca.gov/ by February 19th

Submit a No Party Preference Cross-over Ballot Notice and Application by February 19th
https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/political-parties/no-party-preference

Protect your vote by ensuring that you can vote for the Republican Presidential candidate on March 5th!
