"The Moving Wall" is the half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has been touring the country for thirty plus years. When John Devitt attended the 1982 dedication in Washington, he felt the positive power of "The Wall." He vowed to share that experience with those who did not have the opportunity to go to Washington.
"The Moving Wall" is coming to Stockton! The wall will be on display at the Weber Point Event Center from June 29th to July 3rd.
The Moving Wall will be on display and is free and open to the community. The Moving Wall will be open to the public 24 hours a day staffed by Veterans and civilian volunteers, who will assist in locating names, accompanying individuals or families to the Wall, helping with taking a “rubbing” of a name or just being available as a “silent partner” at the Wall. During the hours of darkness it will be bathed in a sheen of golden light.
The opening ribbon cutting with be held at 3pm on Thursday, June 29 with special program taking place on Saturday, July 1st at Noon. Both events are free and open to the public.
