The Contra Costa Republican Party Central Committee


The Contra Costa Republican Party Central Committee serves as the board of directors overseeing the Republican efforts in our county.  We meet monthly during election years and every other month during non-election years.


Members of the Central Committee are elected every four years by Republican voters in the presidential primary election. The Central Committee is divided by county supervisorial district. 


The Central Committee elects its own executive board from among its members every two years. 


The goal of the Central Committee is simple: elect Republicans to local, state, and federal office.


From our ByLaws:


Section 1.


The purpose of the Contra Costa Republican Central Committee shall be to support the precepts of our Nation’s Founding Fathers as reflected in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights with particular emphasis upon the rights of the individual, limited governmental powers, and equity under the law.


The County Central Committee is committed to strengthening the free enterprise system, private property ownership, individual rights, and representative government.


The County Central Committee is committed to carrying out its charge under the law to encouraging Republican candidates who uphold the above-stated principles, and assisting them in their political campaigns.


Be it further resolved that the Contra Costa Republican Central Committee shall be open and accessible to all Republican Party Members who endeavor to uphold the above-stated principles.


Section 2.


The objectives of the County Party shall be:


To register citizens as Republican voters and to assist and encourage all Republicans to vote in every election;


To campaign for the election of Republican candidates for public offices and to work for the appointment of Republicans to appointive governmental positions;


To maintain an effective, intelligent, aggressive, and permanent Republican campaign organization in Contra Costa County;


To participate in the development of the principles and platforms of the Republican Party and to support and promulgate them within Contra Costa County;


To serve as a liaison between Republicans in Contra Costa County and both the California Republican Party and The Republican National Committee; to recognize and assist Republican volunteer organizations in Contra Costa County;


To bring new volunteers into Republican Party politics and provide an opportunity for them to find political expression and recognition;


To recruit competent Republican candidates to run for public office and to train future leaders for service in local, state, and federal government;


To promote patriotism among the citizens of Contra Costa County

 

To advance the cause of good government at all levels;

 
To support such other issues as the Central Committee deems partisan.
